Keith James and Rick Foot played the songs of Nick Drake at Kirkby Stephen’s Acoustic Tearoom.

Nick Drake was an amazing singer songwriter who tragically died in the autumn of 1974 of a drug overdose leaving behind some fantastic tunes (many you would recognise as soundtracks to tv and films). Many are sad and melancholic but have such wonderful words and music.
Keith and Rick played at Glastonbury in 2007 and they think that the Acoustic Tearoom is one of a few places that are very special. Tonight was the last gig at the tearooms marking the end of an era…. but the gigs will be moving to the larger Masonic Hall for next sunday’s gigs. Let’s hope that the atmosphere is just as good. With Penny and Paul behind it, I’m sure it will.
My next trip will be to see Boo Hewerdine in November. Roll on November.
