The Climbers’ Club meet’s Cumbrian team arrived in Rjukan, the long journey had an adverse effect on everyone’s temperament as you can see. There’s lots of snow this year, but as it was our first day we headed for the Krokan area where we had loads of fun on a load of WI4 ice!

The whole place is full of Brits (not a Norwegian in sight), including a team from Cockermouth MRT. But it was the French (one group) who were demolishing the routes making Andy feel more than a little apprehensive as he’d left his helmet behind in the chalet. Doh!

Sabiene’s new shiny equipment all worked as expected as she “flew” up the routes – her first real outdoor ice.
