• Here Everett romps up the amazingly juggy rock on the first pitch, as Tibor said, not a loose hold on the whole mountain!

  • Vegas wouldn’t be Vegas without this!

  • Recognise these guys?

  • This poor fellow got lost in the desert

  • Interesting toilets

  • Needless to say, a moderate amount of beer was consumed back at Bonnie Springs

  • Tibor on the walk out

  • As does Tibor

  • Later on top, Everett savours his water and the view too!

  • Now Tibor sees off the long and run-out second pitch, not quite so juggy but little flakes you wouldn’t dare to pull on anywhere else in the world (or at Red Rocks in the wet, when they just break off)

Johnny Vegas

Having rappelled this route (Johnny Vegas) on the decent from Solar Slab, albeit in the dark (see Tibor’s video post), we thought it looked interesting so returned to climb it later in the trip.

Everett follows up, savouring the moment…

Good job we did this overhanging rappel in the dark last time! On our night time rappels, the rope came down freely every time. On this descent, however, it jammed every time it could – how lucky were we on our previous epic?

A nice path this time but coming out in the dark we lost the path and bushwhacked through the desert scrub you see around.

  1. I thought we already had a ‘Heart Attack Grill’ at RLH, judging by the size for some catered meals :yum:

There’s a permanent ambulance located outside the Vegas joint but I think it might be just for show 😕

Their biggest burger meal comes in at 9000cals 😀
