Another Dry Lakeland Bank Holiday

After an amazing start to the summer weather in May and early June, July and August have been quite disappointing really. More wet, grey, and disappointing weather days than the proper summer sunshine we had hoped for. 🙁 However, despite that we’ve been out and about on the Lakeland crags a fair bit. 🙂 Then, as luck would have it, the August bank holiday was again (mostly) dry and sunny. Unfortunately we’ve both been ill so this held back adventures somewhat, but not completely…

Saturday saw us at the Swirl Crags near Thirlmere. A great choice normally for an evening of dragging. But today, with our poor form, it was a good choice too – we had the place entirely to ourselves, no mean feat on a Lakeland bank holiday! 😀

On Sunday the weather was a little threatening, so off we went for a seaside stroll from Silverdale. The tide was out and had we realised soon enough we could have hooked on to the special guided walks all the way across Morecambe Bay from Arnside to Grange-Over-Sands. But the exposed sands provided Zac with an awesome playground and opportunity to get ridiculously muddy! 😯

No photos for Monday’s play, sorry. But there are loads in the new FRCC Borrowdale Guidebook that went on sale earlier this month.
