More awesome Bank Holiday weather

While the south of England is cloaked in fog and Birmingham suffers from flash flooding the north west is continuing to bask in glorious wall-to-wall sunshine!

Cycling

We kicked off another multi-activity Bank Holiday weekend with a long bike ride, Laetitia’s biggest yet, over Barbondale and down in to Dent for lunch.

Navigation

Sunday I had work in Elterwater teaching navigation. Navigation is sometimes better in bad weather because it makes the whole exercise trickier and more challenging thanks to poor visibility. But it’s hard to say that going for a walk around Langdale in weather like this is ever bad!

Teaching navigation above Elterwater

Laetitia set off with us from Elterwater but then went on and made her own way all the way to the Langdale Pikes and back to Elterwater on the Cumbrian Way.

Coniston Canoe, Swim & BBQ

Monday’s weather, if anything, was even hotter. So sunny and hot in fact that climbing wouldn’t have been that great. It was really weather for getting out on the water… And to prolong the amazing Bank Holiday weekend to the max we packed the boat with a cool box filled with all the (too much) food and beer 😉 we could to have a four-star BBQ dinner on the shores of Coniston! 😎
