Couple of Days of Work & a Big “Pikey Dodging” Cycle Ride

The weekend was dominated by two days of work, but at least it was fun work – mostly gorge bashing with super exciting big jumps in to pools of lovely cool Lakeland water…

Coniston Stags

Saturday was with a group of seven Stags having a couple of contrasting outdoor adventures in the Lakes before they headed off to Liverpool for a traditional night on the town!

Esk Gorge

Sunday was spent in Eskdale with a group of friends enjoying the awesome Esk Gorge…

Tan Hill Mists

Finally on Monday some time to get back on plan with my training for the Marmotte

It was a great ride out to Tan Hill, starting off in the warm sunshine around Kendal but riding up and through the clouds over Tan Hill. It was a bit cold up there, but at least it didn’t rain. Then with some 90km in my legs and feeling pretty tired headed in the direction of home some evil “gypsy” youths playing rugby near Kirkby Stephen tried to knock me off my bike (probably to practice kicking people’s heads in and then steal my bike for fun). I hope they lost the rugby ball they kicked at me! It was a good kick, it just missed me and sailed over the road in to the bushes. I was super tired when I got home!

Note to self, in future avoid the Appleby area by a good 50km during the Horse Fair season. 🙁
