The bridleways around Kentmere offer a massive number of alternate routes for mountain biking. No wonder it’s so popular here! But it’s a great testimony to the quality of the routes that we can keep on going back over and over. Of course, being able to cycle from our front door and not having to use the car is a big incentive.
Near the head of the valley stands Kentmere Hall, an awesome 14th century fortification. It provides a opportunity to stop and checkout some Lakeland history, recover from an adrenaline pumping rocky descent, and a chance to catch your breath before climbing back up the opposite side of the valley.
