My Left Foot

After a long wait and navigating the red tape of NHS admin., I at last went under the knife, to have my foot operation. When I say knife, I actually mean hammer and chisel….. I’m glad I was out cold.

I must agree with Pete’s view, the staff at Carlisle Hospital were fantastic, I can’t praise them enough. Its a shame the polititions have to interfere all the time, as they do with everything.

I was wondering what all the fuss was about in the evening; I felt fine. At about 1am the general and local anaesthetics wore off. Poor Anna, I moaned and thrashed all night. She’s got a long 6 weeks ahead!

  1. We had a big discussion beforehand about whether to fuse the joint,: the writing is stating that I didn’t want it fused, and yes, to make sure they got the left foot, not the right foot!

  2. That made me wince in pain! Thank goodness we don’t have that weird “we share all pain thing” that some twins have… otherwise you would have had 47 years of hysterical paranoia and I would now have a sore foot… take care Ian… I’ll try not to call you TOO early! cx
