Gimmer; No, it’s White Ghyll

We set off for Gimmer Crag in Langdale today – it was sunny, and the south facing buttress seemed like a good option. Fifteen minutes from the car we came over a rise and felt the teeth of the cold northerly wind! Gimmer was going to be cold! A quick team meeting followed, debating the merits of frozen climbing and hard climbers – we decided to go to White Ghyll for some shelter…

At first, before the sun had had time to come round on to the rock it was bitter here to. So, we started off on Slip Knot, a classic VS. As the day went on we had some fun on Forget-Me-Not and Palestinians (both E1). Both fantastic routes, worth more than the two stars they each get in the guide? A hint there Max! 😉

Then it was a fast dash to the Bowness cinema to watch Spiderman 3! A packed day!
