Sarah had never been to Sergeant Crag Slabs so that’s where we went. Our routes included No More Motivation, a one star VS that no-one seems to do. As the day was very dry it was possible to ascend the initial green wall to some holds and gear. However, after that there was a long runout without gear, and without much in the way of holds until (and even after) I had removed lots of moss! We decided it would be a nice route if more people tried it and it got cleaner.
For our last route of the sunny day I suggested that Sarah led the classic 3 star Lakeland Cragsman HVS 5a which she did in fine style.
And on the way down I had a lovely swim in a deep pool in Langstrath beck.

Sarah’s dad says, “why bother climbing all the way up just so that you can then come down again?” Anyway, it’s an interesting view of Sarah, one that I have not had for quite some time! Glad you all had a good day.
