On Saturday, Anna, Ian, Andy, Sabiene and Arthur decided to brave the weather and headed for Grisedale Pike. The weather forecast was for gusty wind and showers and for once they were right! Stinging hail and wind to knock us over greeted us on the ridge but we battled onward and in places were forced to crawl.

Once on top we headed for Coledale Hause, deciding it was too windy to continue up Hopegill Head. The lure of a pint at the Coledale Inn was an added attraction. On the way down we passed Force Crag mine, worth a visit if you’ve never seen it.

Anna and I headed home, and were tucking into our tea when we found out that Andy, Sabiene and Arthur were stuck on the M6 for 3 1/2  hours.
