What a great way to spend Xmas day – skiing in Chamonix!

Happy Christmas Kats!
After crediting our lift passes on-line late last night (it was a long day, “working from home”) we got up early and set off for the Brevent ski area. It was cold – very cold – and a little cloudy. But it soon cleared up and gave us a fantastic day on the pistes.
We’d decided, after the tricky start to last year’s ski season, that before we went off-piste ski touring in the 08/09 season we’d get at least one day on-piste to remember how to ski before committing to the back country. A good decision – it was awesome fun! So much so we may do more tomorrow…

Wow!! weather and snow look great. not jealous at all

Are they new ski pants Tish????
Well, not quite so new any more. I got them last year after roasting in black on the Haute Route. I was feeling extravagant – but I’m not this year with the way the euro has gone.
So it was sunny for you too. It looked distinctly cloudy from here – we didn’t see Mont Blanc at all until late afternoon.
Yep, sunny on the Aiguille Rouge side of the valley – but the Mont Blanc side was very moody! The odd snow flurry did make it across the valley…
