The clouds were heavy and full of rain, and we decided to go over to the Yorkshire limestone. We hadn’t been to Attermire Scar before and expected it to be quite busy, with plenty of routes at all grades and a short pleasant walk. There was no-one else there! 
We were forewarned of the hard undercut starts on the Main crag by Terry's post last year, so we chose to go to the Moonshine Buttress on the far right of the Attermire Escarpment.

It was pretty windy and cold up at the crag, so we only did two routes before running back home to cut the grass! 
We chose the two best (three star) routes of the crag – Hare’s Wall Direct and Moonshine.

Looks a bit chilly on the crag!!

Yes, it was very chilly!
Looks like the British summer has ended – we were climbing in fleeces and windproofs on a low level crag in mid July. Not good. 
Yeah – I thought the calves looked very cute in their over-sized earings.
You should have been in the Lakes. We had a beautiful day
walking around Maiden Moor/Hindscarth. I should have taken a sun hat and shades. I’m sure you could have found a sheltered sunny crag to play about on.
