Laurence and Maddie have gone home now, but here’s a quick update on the last couple of days of their adventures in Chamonix and Les Houches learning to ski…

Maddie and Laurence with their morning instructor, William

Their last day on the Les Houches slopes was a real alpine experience – blizzards!!

Bad weather at Les Houches

Despite the storms the weather did clear enough for Laurence and Maddie to both get a chance to show off their new skiing skills to their instructors in their assessments.

Their efforts paid off, both got awarded a Flocon standard.
Ye ha, medals all round!

Flocon (Snowflake): Linking snow plough turns, bringing back ski to parallel position. Test of balance on gentle slopes.

On our last night we went into Chamonix centre to join in with the Ecole du Ski Français (ESF) celebrations…

Lastly, just before heading off for Geneva airport, time for one last French lunch! :yum:
