Went up to Esk Buttress last weekend with Strong Tom. Did Central Pillar, Humdrum, Gargoyle Grooves and then Alehouse Rock, another E4 in the bag for me!

Almost. I think it was a Lesser-spotted Pastey Tom. Shortly after this photo was taken, a Tanned Tinker showed up and went for a dip too…
It can’t really have been warm enough for a swim surely? The crag does look great though, I haven’t been to Esk Buttress before.
It took a bit of easing into, but was perfect once in, could have stayed for hours…
