Laetitia’s sister came to stay for a couple of days over the weekend… Not that we need much of an excuse, but this provided a perfect one for us to visit the Masons Arms for dinner on Friday evening! It beats the usual Friday night take-away curry hands down.

We were lucky enough to visit on an evening when Hawkshead Brewery were sampling a selection of their ales (brewed in Staveley .. of course?). Naturally we had to have a taste of all the samples on offer; one ale was offered with a little square of cheese, and another with a piece of dark chocolate! Surprisingly these combinations worked very well!
