On Wednesday evening we presented ourselves at the local retained fire fighter recruitment event…
What a giggle: carrying hoses, weights, etc. up and down the station forecourt; doing a simulated ladder lift; a grip test; and an equipment assembly test. That was followed by a little pep-talk and off we were packed with an application form should we wish to apply for consideration for the job of a local retained fire fighter and entry on to the nine to twelve month recruitment programme!

I’m pretty sure Pete only wrote the post so the list of recent comments would say “Colin on Fire?”
(now, of course, they say “Richard on fire?” too!)
