We had plans to get several household chores, gardening, and decorating jobs done over the bank holiday weekend. This seemed like a perfect plan as the weather forecast was less than hopefully. We coupled this plan with the dread of venturing out with the enormous and terrifying crowds that descend on the Lakes over this holiday (and half-term) weekend. However, it the end it was actually quite nice and sunny on all three days. 😀 Gardening is always nice when the sun is out, and it should give the vegetable seedlings a great start. The best weather was set for Monday, and so it was that we spent Monday enjoying the sun at Quayfoot Buttress to complete the weekend with a mini-adventure before heading back to work.
We were not alone in Borrowdale though; along with the crowds of tourists we shared the valley with the first cuckoo of spring.
