Brrr, Saturday was so cold – even in the lovely sunshine! Seeing the forecast during the week before I think I’d have been forced to forgo a little weight saving and pack a warmer sleeping bag and extra chocolate for the mid-way camp. Ah, and maybe a tipple of something special like Drambuie to boost morale levels!
Fantastic effort though! Is the OMM the last two day mountain marathon of the year?
Hey, if Laetitia and I can do a MM you’d sail round. And if it wasn’t for the ongoing issues with my knee when running we’d be doing far more MMs. They’re really good fun.
Well done both – and thanks for confirming that the decision we (I!) made to pull out at road on day two was the right one. We stupidly tried the elite – day one was 39km (allegedly) with 3100m height gain Day 2 was 31km with another 2600m, most of which was towards the end. My 2/10 morale level didn’t fancy it, but mainly cos I was so chuffed with getting round day 1! Completely understand the overnight camp and Wild Boar fell grumbles, but at least those bits don’t come as surprise?!
Respect to you all. You’re crazy.
The Rab MM was so much easier Anna, you choose how far you want to go, and you can even walk it if you want (as if anyone actually runs up hills anyway!).
Did the other teams get disqualified for making better use of the ponies that you thought were photographic models
I don’t think so… but we did discuss the option of commandeering a pony instead of running.
You know you loved it really
!!
It can’t have been as bad as the High Peak Marathon torture surely….
Well done though, 18th is pretty good and it sounds like you did well to finish with so many drop outs
Oops sorry I am number and date dyslexic, I meant 17th!

The last MM of the year . . . Thank goodness
Well done both. And thanks for definitively quashing any hint of a desire in the back of my mind to have a go at a MM one day.

My God!

Bring on next year.
Er, did I just say that? Whoops…
You were there too? I can’t believe how many of our friends we failed to meet up with
Well done on finishing day 1 … 39 km, 3100 m climb; that is pretty silly!
The memories haven’t faded yet…
Respect to you all. You’re crazy.

Top effort we ran the medium score and was pleased with that my partner really suffered and it was just straight back on day two. Well run.
