The steep up was quite hard work but luckily I wasn’t breaking trail. I liked the steep down bits – just hurled myself down assuming that if I fell it would not hurt – but didn’t fall anyway. It was a good opportunity to pass people who were more scared of snow
To be fair, the farmer isn’t so grumpy – he is an ex-fell runner himself – but he (justifiably I think) prefers people to keep to the paths across his land.

I’m not sure it was much warmer in KPC – heating on it’s last legs too?!
