You would have thought we’d be knackered after a week in Spain learning to skydive, but no, on the Sunday after our return, glorious Lakeland weather greeted us.

Whilst near Madrid learning to skydive we had to take a day off from jumping out of aeroplanes to check out the superb granite slab climbing just 20 minutes north of Madrid at Pedriza.

Super Hot weather, and the lethargy set it, so we had a “holiday day” at Kettle Crag. More like a holiday than regular Lakeland cragging because the weather was more like Spain than England.

BMG Open Day

An opportunity came up at the last moment to attend the first ever BMG Open Day. Seeing as the event was only 10 minutes from home at Ghyll Head OEC near Bowness, it seemed like an unmissable chance to find out more about becoming a mountain guide.
