After a good day at Wilton Quarry and with the glorious summer weather we decided on an impromptu BBQ. While we were finishing eating our tasty pork and apple sausages we heard some lively music (and obviously loud as it was a way off) coming from the centre of the village. Was someone having a party and had forgotten to invite us?

The meal was excellent and Penny’s Pear Tart Tartin was to die for, followed by 2 hours of Don’s excellent music.

I’m not sure if the Staveley guys were the best. If they weren’t, they were only narrowly beaten by the guys from Luton (pictured above). Either way the procession through the streets of Kendal were an amazing flash of colour and sound!

Save Westmorland General Hospital

We braved the pouring rain (along with about 5998 other people - according to “official” estimates) in Kendal this morning. It was wet! But we wanted to join in the cry to save threatened services at the Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal.
