Terry likes to climb Gillercombe Buttress about this time of year as a nice warm up to the season.
After a heavy rain shower in the early hours of Sunday morning we decided our best option to find some quick drying rock was to visit the slate quarries above Llanberis.
Following our reports of easy access to the Ghost, the others decided they must go in.
We hardly made it along highway 1A, so deep was the fresh snow and I was starting to have doubts as regards the wisdom of this trip.

The Icefields Parkway was not in very good nick. Not so much the road but the others couldn’t see the lovely scenery.

Just getting into the swing of it again. Been very warm here but forecast minus 12°C tonight with high minus 5°C tomorrow...
My friends Amy and Will headed up to join me in Scotland this weekend with the intention of going winter climbing, with the rare combination of good conditions and a reasonable weather forecast we hoped to tick a **** classic route.
