Black Darter Dragonfly
While Laetitia and I were are Warton Quarry today I got a chance to get really close to and photograph this Black Darter (Sympetrum danae) dragonfly.
Well, I’m pretty sure it’s a Black Darter - I’m no dragonfly expert! ![]()

After a bit more research (check here) I think it is actually a female Common Darter!

Nice shot; it is a female Common Darter. They are probably breeding in the pools at the quarry.
