Open fireplaces are not allowed in Chamonix rental apartments any longer so a massive renovation project was planned…
Ian and I set about ripping out the old open fireplace and restoring a nice simple plastered wall complete with a large digital flatscreen TV. While we were at it we redecorated the whole apartment, painted the shutters, and fixed several things in need of a little maintenance including a broken plank in the terrace decking.
It wasn’t all hard work though… While waited for the new plaster to dry out ready for painting Ian and I managed to grab a day climbing at Chesery’s. Then over the weekend Laetitia grabbed a cheap (ish) flight and we enjoyed a day on L’Index, and the three of us passed the morning before Laetitia’s afternoon flight home taking in the views on the Balcon Nord.
But after the fun it was back to work … we had a deadline to meet and a lot of work to complete!
