A lovely evening for a paddle.
I met up with a 3 others from Sedbergh & District Canoe Club on the shore of Windermere at 6.30 pm.
Starting at the rather expensive (£5) car park near the ferry (The Nab?) we had a lovely trip south down Windermere. We just missed the ferry (or rather it just missed us) on the way. There was a slight headwind, but not enough to cause any problems.
Turning around (we think around Stewardson Nab), a very pleasant paddle back to the landing stages made for a fine and calm evening on the lake.
A lovely pint in the Sun Inn at Crook on the way back sorted us out.
A great way to end the week.

Aren’t you worried about what might be ahead in the dark????? What about the Windermere Whale

Windermere Whale!? What’s going on - cats, dogs, and now whales!!!

I’m not sure about the whales, but Pippa was unsure about a few bouys we passed. The only wailing (note the spelling) was me the next day with a sore back, shoulders and arms from paddling.
I need to get paddling more to get my fitness back up to scratch.
Anyone want a play in a boat? Swallows and Amazons style?

Hmmm, I’m always a bit unsure about boys as well. Good for Pippa.

Just got a chance to look at your blog, that’s a spooky picture of the kayaks in the dark!
