Thrills in Aspatria this week as we pulled our first potatoes.
Ian forced me out of doors in my dressing gown early one morning this week – to see our first tomato (tiny, green, but nonetheless a tomato). We decided that although we had no idea whether it was time to harvest potatoes we would take the risk, and pulled the weediest looking plant. To our astonishment:

Sorry to bore the non-gardeners, but this week we have eaten our first onion, cabbage and radishes, as well as the potatoes and more courgettes.
Possibly beginning to tire of lettuce?
Luckily there are two other varieties on their way to maturity

Them’s good spuds
I pulled my first potatoes yesterday and harvested a couple of courgettes. I decided that earlies should surely be ready, even though there were no flowers.
Fantastic.
I forgot to take pictures before I let Pete cook them.
Well, you can send a picture of people feeling ill after Pete’s cooking
pete cooking??
Were you out/ill/away Tish.
Did he find the kitchen?
Terry: Pete was only given the spuds a few days ago, we’ll have to wait for the photos of ill people until after he’s taken them out of the microwave.
Right, I’ve had quite enough of this!
