We awoke to the accurately forecast rain on Sunday. Any worthwhile climbing in the hills was definitely off the agenda. But we suspected it would be dry either on Anglesey or perhaps back towards Llangollen. Pothole Quarry near Corwen won the vote, being on the way home…

On the way over we doubted our wisdom, driving through heavy rain showers all the way to Ruthin. But in the end we were right – sunny, warm and – crucially – dry weather greeted us!

There was no cake consumed, but there was a very welcome pot of tea and posh biscuits :yum: at the Druid’s Inn just 200m from the car park (which itself was only a level 10 minutes from the crag). Perfect!
