Craig y Longridge

I went bouldering today! First time on rock this year and to a venue that is renowned for taking no prisoners. Sure enough, I got my donkey kicked…

Craig y Longridge is a wave of perfect overhanging quarried gristone, just outside Preston, about an hours drive south for me. I’ve been a couple of times before, but not since the completion of the adjacent holiday park expansion, and the BMC buying the land below the crag to secure access. Plus points: the nice flat landings all the way along. Minus points: the loss of the view – you now look at the back of some horrible looking holiday lets. Oh well, at least we can still play there…

I met Neil there, and also bumped into a couple of chaps he knows, so it was a good humoured social affair.

More of the same tomorrow, though I’m not sure where yet. Hope the skin holds up, I’ve already lost one pad (ouch)…
