From Crag Lough
Year: 2006
We had planned to go to Gimmer today, but like so many a 'plan A', it was changed last minute to White Ghyll (picture right). The reason; although sunny and warm we decided it was too windy to be up high in Langdale. It was a wise choice as the wind was bitingly cold!
Ian, Anna, Andy, Sabiene and Arthur braved the weather, 100's of other walkers and the vomit-inducing mementoes, plaques and even an urn to reach the top of Ben Nevis.
Scout Scar is a new location for us, surprising as it's the closest crag to our home. With easy access from Kendal, a super short walk in (just ten minutes), and amazing views of Morecombe Bay, Kentmere and the central fells - a top spot.
Is there a better way to end a work day than a trip to Borrowdale (despite the long drive from the South) to grab a route and a beer?
The BBC spends a lot of money (our license fees) on weather forecasting!
Having followed Pete all the way up to the only crag in the Lakes where it rained in July, we'd at least hoped he knew the way.
Will the hot weather ever come to an end?
On a wonderful hot summer day we headed out to Crag Lough (below Hadrian’s Wall) after a full breakfast, thanks to Andy!
Just how many punctures can you get on a mountain biking trip around Kentmere?
