A day in Blackpool & Chainsaw Madness?

Laetitia and I spent a bit of time in Blackpool at the weekend…

However, first I spent the morning – as it was dry – chopping down a large leylandii tree in the garden. Wow there’s so much more space now! And loads of firewood too…

We’d bought some lunch from a supermarket and went looking for somewhere with a view out to sea to eat it. As luck would would have it the first place we found turned out to be a viewing area for rally event being hosted on Blackpool’s promenade. It was quite exciting to watch the cars hurtling and ridiculous speeds on the damp sandy concrete road with so little grip, then throw a wild handbrake turn around the hairpin. We were sure one would side-swipe the parapet. After a while the cold wind and our empty tummies dragged us back to our car though!
