The weather turned out far better than we’d expected, so after some discussion drinking tea in Longlands Cafe, a trip to Horseshoe Quarry was quickly organised before Laetitia had to rush off to the CC committee meeting in Grindleford. Leaving Paul and I to carry on climbing in the sun.
We enjoyed the safe (bolted ๐ ) climbing on the steep (and in places scarily loose ๐ ) limestone.
I write “safe” in the same sentence as “loose” because Paul gave us a scare – ๐ฏ – when pulling up on a shoe-box sized hold. The hold and Paul both parted company with the cliff and caught some air!!! Luckily I was belaying to the side and neither of us were hit, so it turned out as just a good laugh. Sort of! Could have been worse…
Paul concentrates on the next hold…
Hey, what were those route names Paul?
