Last weekend Richard and I ran the Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon (the Kirkfell class); another two day mountain orienteering event, carrying all overnight gear. This wasn’t the expected destination for the weekend, however on Tuesday we discovered a team on the internet who were injured and therefore needed a team to take their place … this opportunity couldn’t be missed! We started from Patterdale and ran over hill after hill … 30 km in 5 hours … to get to the overnight camp. Height gain was about 1800 m. The second day we covered 23 km in ~4 hours going over High Street for part of the run. Elevation was about 900 m …. and on tired legs that is kinda tough! We came 4th overall and 1st mixed team on our course … and now I can’t walk very quickly at all.
I’m amazed you can walk at all! 🙄
Another good result though! You are making a habbit of getting well placed…
Shame no pics.
