Month: August 2007
A fantastic dinner (eight courses, four of which were desserts) and a little booze (to lubricate the brain cells) set up the field of contenders for the Trivial Pursuit championship...
Not dancing, not singing and not even "Minging in the Rain"...
"The weekend looks set to be wet again." says Ian, "Lets get out Friday evening if it stays dry..."
Monday evening saw me and Pete high on Green Gable, in wind and cloud. We found Steve, but no sign of Anne in the cloud.....
The weather wasn't great, which seems to be the norm in this summer, but we were determined to get out and make the most of it. Andy and Angela had come to visit and I wanted to let them have a chance to see some great views, albeit through the Cumbrian mist...
Well Kats, nice to know that its good weather in the Rockies, with an apparently fantastic season to date...
Saturday, phone rings, it`s Clive. "Forecast's poor for tomorrow so we're off to Dovestone Tor"...
After enough good weather in the Hepste valley in South Wales Andy and Colin thought Tucks Rift might be in condition. This is a long term project that has resulted in us finding about 100 m of previously unexplored passage and one aven with an impassable surface connection...
Summer let us down again in the Lakes.............. with rain threatening in Langdale we headed again for Raven Crag, (close to the road) and the rain duly arrived; no sign of Gene Kelly, but better footwork from Tish as she danced up the wet rock.....................
