After the ice came the powder… no Nigella jokes here.
We took a little time out of Chamonix and headed over (or should I say under) the border to Cogne for some ice climbing.
We have long neglected the wonderful facilities of the Canmore Nordic Centre – pisted cross country runs of up to 30Km.
2013 - another year of adventure and another year of the blog! It's a shame that many of the blog's regular authors have found themselves short of time to write a few words and share their photos...
This year we have gate-crashed my sister’s Christmas holiday and joined them for skiing in Chamonix.
Terry and Andrew were lucky to attend the book-launch of this new selected ice climbing guidebook at the Iron Goat, Cougar Creek in the Canadian Rockies the other night.
Just our luck, mid-week saw all-time record low temperatures for December in Las Vegas! Tuesday it was 18°C and overnight saw Wednesday’s temperature plummet to -2°C. We’ve been ice climbing in warmer temperatures than this! :freeze:
After spending a week at home feeling very sorry for myself and full of flu, I decided I was no longer contagious and managed to drag myself out of the house and on to a plane. We were off to Las Vegas.
Another brilliant year for the Kendal Mountain Festival...
