Sometimes a race can live up to a recce
Practising for a fell race does not necessarily prepare you for the real thing.
Andy, Sarah and I entered this English Championship and British Championship race recently. Being a champs race meant that ordinary people such as me can line up with the top fell-racers on equal terms; not many sports where this is the case.

Lack of exercise over the hols made it seem necessary to attempt at least one "peak"
Sadly the weather here has not been conducive to many adventures.
