Holme Bank Chert Mine

After a damp week in Derbyshire Saturday brought some very heavy rain, enough to scupper any distant plans we had of caving; either wet or dry. After a meeting on the Saturday night me, Marcus and Chris agreed to head over to Holme Bank Chert Mine on the edge of Bakewell for some practice and equipment testing. The mine had been used the previous day for similar activities and the sediment hadn’t settled out enough for good photography so I took a few quick shots and got on with the business of the day.  The picture is of Marcus drifting through the mine on his Dolphin SCR after experimenting to sort his weighting and trim. The light he is using is an umbilical HID that he picked up recently.
