Adventures (?) and activities with family members.
The weather wasn't great, which seems to be the norm in this summer, but we were determined to get out and make the most of it. Andy and Angela had come to visit and I wanted to let them have a chance to see some great views, albeit through the Cumbrian mist...
700 years is a long time ...... we hadn't even started climbing then (well maybe Terry had). Anna and I visited Burgh by Sands where King Edward 1 died on 7th July 1307 for the anniversary commemorations. I wonder if he died because of the torrential downpour????
Pete flew back to Blighty this morning, so me, mum and dad went for a tourist trip by taking the train up to Montenvers for a closer look at the Mer de Glace...
After the success of the short walk yesterday I decided it was time for my parents to experince more Alpinism. The weather was better and there were less clouds, so we took the lift up to Aiguille du Plan with the intention of strolling over to Lac Bleu for a picnic.
While the summer came to England, spring remained in Chamonix. Clouds kept the temperature cool, so we decided an all day adventure wasn't what we wanted...
Yeah - "We are family, I got all my sisters with me..." Well, that's how the song goes, so me and Caroline made our way over to Bedfordshire to Saskia's place for a weekend of sibling fun.
It's that time of year where it rains a lot! Just check out our weather page.
I'm not sure if the Staveley guys were the best. If they weren't, they were only narrowly beaten by the guys from Luton (pictured above). Either way the procession through the streets of Kendal were an amazing flash of colour and sound!
This is just to show that Laetitia and Pete aren’t the only ones to have a taste for fancy furniture!
