A last minuite decision Friday night to cancel our N Wales trip due to the ongoing monsoon saw Paul and SS in the Peak Saturday morning. Too cold and windy for grit; too wet for limestone. Need somewhere sheltered and quick drying...
The weather forecast caught us out and delivered yet more rain instead of the dry sunny spells promised, so we ended up passing on the climbing option. Doh! It's a good job there are plenty of efficient mountain streams in the Lakes or else I'm sure we'd be under feet of water by now. When will the rain stop and summer arrive?
Several people from WMCEG and a couple from Dudley CC have expressed an interest in supporting a trip down the Lost Johns cave system for which WMCEG had a permit for the 14th.
