Last weekend’s trip to Crummackdale was fun, so we thought another limestone-day was called for; thus a return to Twistleton Scar. A team of six this time – Anna, Ian, Sarah, Jon, Laetitia and me. Between the three teams we managed to climb quite a few lines!

Does the amount of protection carried by each climber indicate their level of intelligence
I’m not intelligent enough to answer that question, I think we need to wait for Ian to give us a fully qualified explanation…
Obviously the answer is yes
, I carry 3 full sets of wires, chocks on cord, 11 cams, 1 slider, cord, 3 short slings and 2 long slings, plus a couple of spare krabs and 14 extenders. Pete as you can see has 3 extenders and a small pack of blue tac. Hmmmmmmmmmm.
I find the blue tac very helpful at making what would otherwise seem to be pointless protection stay in cracks that it would normally simply fall out off. It’s all psychological anyway…
