Fontainebleau Stop-off

We’d travelled to the Chamonix in our van to give us some flexibility… Would the weather mean we’d need to go elsewhere? Would we drive to Zermatt? Would Brexit mean our return date needed to change? Would we want to stop off at Fontainebleau for some bouldering action on the way home? All of these crucial questions turned out to be true!

Bouldering in Fontainebleau is special. We love the way the pre-set circuits of problems mean one can continuously move from problem to problem. None of this working a problem for us, we love the experience of travelling through the forest. And boy does it give you a workout, mu shoulders were sore for days after!

One last chore… A stop to load up the wan with some French booze to take home! Then it was onwards with the long trek home. At least there was a reward in that too – being reunited with our missing pack member, Zac!
