Royal Shield

Did you know you could do this with the coins in your pocket? Here’s the Royal Shield on the front of the one pound coin…

After spotting a portion of the pattern on the 5p coin I was intrigued. So I spent the next few days keeping all my change. Then when I got a 10p that also had a portion of the pattern on it I knew I was right. After that I kept on keeping my change trying to get a full set of the smaller coins that make up the image again. Clever isn’t it!

£1.88 well spent kept!

I wonder why they didn’t try to incorporate the Two Pound coin? Was it just that it might have spoiled the symmetrical aesthetics of the layout?
