Something Stupid on Long Scar

At last, a sunny day in the Lake District coincides with when I’m home. After a day in front of the laptop, I had a quick look at the guide and decided we should go to Long Scar for an evening of medium grade climbing – it’s south west facing and gets the best of the evening sun.

As soon as we got there we saw the obvious line of Something Stupid VS 4c. It was short, but steep, and after a few scary moments in the middle, the holds became jugs and the angle eased off.

We finished the evening with a quick run up Katie’s Diliemma, then a dsh back to the car, a stop in Wndermere for fish and chips, and home in time for Heroes.

I think we are the heroes.

  1. Another potential prize-winner pic! Really the standard of photography on your site is excellent. So still watching your site from the Dolomites, where the weather is equivocable. Still, off to Croatia today, where it is very hot still.

  2. Thanks! Yeah, there are loads of great pictures taken by all of the blog’s contributors – hence the creation of the “Image Archive” to try and bring those pictures back from being lost in the blog chronology… Have you seen that yet?

Bad luck about the weather in the Dollies! You must be getting a few via ferrata done though? Worth a posting?

Wow, Croatia, you are getting about – make sure you post something from there!!!
