For what feels like the first time in living memory I actually went on a walk this week. The AW Fellwalkers are out whatever the weather and this time I ignored the rain and went along to Braithwaite. Only a dozen hardy souls turned out. The weather improved!

Wow, the heather does look amazing!
Dodd is the little hill between Bass lake and Skiddaw – for great views you go from the tea room at Dodd Wood up the hill to the top. Not far but worth it.
Glad to see fashion out-weighed sensibility – gaiters would have looked just terrible. Hope all the mud washes out.
