With only a few hours of play before having to leave Chamonix to fly back to the UK we took the popular option of grabbing a few routes at Les Gaillands. (Aside: Had we know there had been a fatal accident there on Friday though we might not have gone.)

HOT at Les Gaillands
It was so hot we only managed three routes before we fried! After that we retreated for a cold drink and lunch on the terrace. Where giant spiders have moved in… Chamonix may never recover from an attack by these monsters!

Nice hat
I’ll get my coat…
That’s a bloody great big boulder on the ground behind silly!
But I take your point, I could have framed the picture better… …it was all I could do to not have heat stroke!
I think you framed it perfectly
Oh my god! It looks like I’ve got a huge potato growing out of my head. Must be one from Anna’s super productive garden – definitely not one of my teeny weeny veggies.
Potato plus beach grade approach boots, what is going on
Oh – I was going to comment on the hat, but I see it is not just me that had that thought.
