Arthur, Andy and I had a day out in the eastern fells on Saturday, making the most of the sun.

Arthur leads the way

Above Brotherswater
Approaching the ascent had been a bit indimidating as the ascent follows a wall up what appeared to be a vertical slope but, as so often, in fact it was not as bad as it looked. We went up High Hartsop Dodd and took a south and west horseshoe route, descending by Hartsop Hall (rather run down but otherwise definitely a des, res.).

Above Brotherswater
A decent pint at the Brotherswater Inn followed. Astonishingly we encountered no rain until we got back to Andy’s for tea, when the heavens opened.

Not Andy's house, I just liked the mossy roof

Fantastic piccys. Great views. Looks like you had the place to yourselves.
I thought perhaps the pic was the pub!
