The vagaries of the weather…
The British summer: in August it rained 25 out 31 days here in the South Lakes. For those a bit slower at the maths, that’s only 6 days without rain or 19% of the month. So it was wet right? No…
April, May, and June 2010 have been dry, very dry! There has been so little rain that we are threatened with a hosepipe ban being just days away. Perhaps the driest period (spring, early summer) ever?

Rain and more rain in Cumbria!
I had thought that the wetness of last year’s August weather could not be beaten, we had 199.8 mm of rain in August last year. But it can be, this year we’ve had a staggering 212.4 mm in August!
