Anna on the arete of Route 1
Sunday, and with a great weather forecast Ian, Anna, Andy and Sabiene headed for Scout Crag in Langdale. The crag has a load of easier grade climbs, perfect for all of us as we hadn’t been out much recently. The cloud didn’t lift and break as forecast; infact there was a light “mizzle” in the air all day. Not put off we managed 4 routes before Anna headed for her second shopping outing of the day!
On the way to the crag we’d stopped in Ambleside to look for new rock shoes for Anna for Cornwall. No luck 🙁 but in the bargain basement of The Climbers’ Shop Anna managed to find a bargain fleece 😀 , but had of course fogotten her wallet 🙄 . Luckily I had mine. How does that always happen? ❓ ❓
On the way home we popped into Needle Sports and Anna found the shoes she wanted 😀 . With these she’ll be flying up the stiffer grade routes in Cornwall!!!!
how was the wild camp?
Looks like a good day!
But, wait, wild camp! What’s that about?
Wow, you guys are in vests – did summer arrive without me noticing?
Looks fun.
… and yeah, what’s this wild camp? Was Ian being a bit gay?
No I was not!!! The words “wild” and “camp” are not always associated with me! Andy and Sabiene spent the night up high, and met us in the morning. Andy said the view was “AWESOME” !
