Laetitia had some work to do in Washington (work, huh, but the bills do need paying 😉 ) which gave us an opportunity to tag an adventure on to the journey and explore a part of the US we might not have ever explored otherwise…
Our first task was to check out the famous sights of Washington DC. A city whose entire layout has been designed as opposed to having organically grown around an ancient settlement, as we learned in some detail on the free tour of the Capitol…
Pete outside the FBI Hoover building on Pennsylvania Avenue … trying not to look too dodgy lest Mulder and Scully come rushing out to detain him, or worse, the Trump hotel was across the road … imagine having to go in there!

We managed to walk over 27km exploring Washington DC! The next day however, we were off on more typical adventure to explore a couple of the American east coast climbing venues. Time to sample some US countryside, and get away from extortionate Washington food prices!
